Notts Police Lead UK In Child Porn Fight
It’s a problem Notts Police share with forces around the country. Computers taken from suspected paedophiles can contain all the evidence needed for conviction – but can take months to trawl through. In February this year the Notts force’s eCrime Unit had a backlog of 223 computers waiting to be checked. But that backlog was reduced to 179 by the end of May – a drop of 20%. And it’s down to a new computer program – Triage ID – which police officers started using in March 2008.
