FBI Licenses Triage Solutions from ADF Solutions to evaluate for Combating Child Pornography
Silver Spring, MD, March 21, 2007 --- ADF Solutions (www.adfsolutions.com) announced today that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has licensed copies of its triage software solutions to evaluate for combating the usage and distribution of images and other content related to child pornography and sexual exploitation of children.
The ADF triage tools will be evaluated for use in investigations led by agents and analysts of the FBI Innocent Images Unit. This unit has been working with ADF Solutions for several months to test the technology and solutions planned for deployment.
The ADF triage tools integrate state-of-the-art Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) technologies to automate the detection of image and video files. These technologies can identify known child exploitation images as well as any altered or similar versions of these images.
In addition, the ADF triage tools integrate the patent-pending SearchPakTM and Search Markup Language (SML) technologies for automatic data identification and data reduction.
Unlike most other image search technologies - which tend to have a media-centric focus - technologies from ADF Solutions focus primarily on conclusive data identification. This unique approach leads to incomparable image matching accuracy for child exploitation and other law enforcement related images, while delivering significantly faster computation times.

About the FBI Innocent Images National Initiative (IINI)
The FBI created its Innocent Images National Initiative (IINI) in 1995 with the goals of breaking up networks of online pedophiles, stopping sexual predators from using the Internet to lure children from their families, and rescuing victims. The IINI is managed by the Innocent Images Unit within the FBI's Cyber Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Innocent Images field supervisors and investigative personnel work closely with the Innocent Images Unit regarding all IINI investigative, administrative, policy and training matters. The IINI provides a coordinated FBI response to this nationwide crime problem by collating and analyzing information obtained from all available sources.
