Digital First Responder (DFR) Training

ADF Solutions, Inc., has designed the Digital First Responder training programs to equip users with knowledge and skills to immediately extract conclusive evidence and intelligence from suspect computers and other digital media. Three programs are currently offered.

 Digital First Responder Training Level 1

A two-day class intended for users; typically case agents who have computer skills but are involved in digital investigations. Students will learn what it means to search a computer for evidence/intelligence, how to do it without compromising the chain of custody, and what to expect from triaging a suspect computer.

  • Create simple keyword SearchPaks®
  • Prepare USB drive using ADF Triage software (minimal options)
  • Run ADF Triage software on the suspect computer
  • Review the findings report for case relevancy

Digital First Responder Training Level 2

A two-day class intended for forensic examiners. Level 2 certified users can support Level 1 users and/or perform field and lab forensic triage. They will learn how to prepare and execute complex searches, understand advanced features, and analyze the results.

  • Create advanced SearchPaks®
  • Prepare USB drive using ADF Triage software
  • Run ADF Triage software on suspect computer
  • Review the findings report for case relevancy and interpret for evidentiary value

Digital First Responder Train the Trainer

ADF Solutions offers agencies this program to have their own trainers train their users on the ADF software. Selected trainers must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Be forensically trained (or equivalent)
  • Have prior training experience with investigators
  • Attend an ADF Train the Trainer program, or attend both Level 1 and Level 2 DFR programs

This program is a two-day class:

  • Day one: DFR Level  1 class training and overview
  • Day two: DFR Level 2 class training and overview (half day) and review of ADF trainers guide (half day)
