What is $Orphan in my Scan Results?

The $OrphanFiles file is a metadata file that contains the list of NTFS orphan files (deleted files that still have file metadata in the file system, but that cannot be accessed from the root directory).

The $OrphanFiles file does not actually exist on the file system, it is used internally to locate orphan files.
