The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is the primary advocate for the protection of wildlife and wild lands as an essential part of a modern and prosperous Africa.

Founded in 1961 with a dedicated focus on addressing Africa's critical conservation needs, AWF has emerged as the primary advocate for the protection of wildlife and wild lands across the continent.

From the beginning, their mission has been to articulate a uniquely African vision for conservation, bridging the gap between scientific research and public policy. By doing so, they aim to demonstrate the numerous benefits that conservation brings, ensuring the survival of Africa's diverse wildlife and the preservation of their precious habitats.

Over the years, AWF has worked tirelessly to develop innovative strategies and implement impactful initiatives that directly tackle the challenges faced by Africa's wildlife. Through their extensive network of conservation experts, scientists, local communities, and government agencies, they have successfully fostered a collaborative approach to conservation. This holistic approach not only protects iconic species such as elephants, rhinos, and lions but also safeguards the delicate ecosystems they rely on.

In their unwavering commitment to combating wildlife trafficking, AWF recognizes the need for cutting-edge technology and specialized training.

In August 2023, ADF collaborated with AWF to provide comprehensive training to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) in the software tools Mobile Device Investigator and Digital Evidence Investigator.

This training equipped dedicated wildlife and law enforcement professionals with the necessary skills to conduct forensic investigations on mobile and computer devices in the field. By gathering irrefutable evidence against wildlife traffickers, we strengthen the fight against this illicit trade that threatens the very existence of Africa's precious wildlife.

Through their tireless efforts and partnerships, AWF remains committed to the long-term survival of Africa's wildlife and the protection of their natural habitats. By bridging the gap between science, public policy, and on-the-ground conservation efforts, they strive to secure a prosperous and sustainable future for both Africa and its iconic wildlife.
